Investigations of clouds need well-characterized models for simulating relevant properties as well as helping to interpret measurements. Here, we propose a simple but robust model for ice clouds, which is characterized using the theory of dynamical systems, and compare to real measurements. The proposed model is not the end of the line but rather a first step in systematic deriving of consistent models of different complexities.
